Counties receive millions in Marcellus Shale fees

From Morning Call staff and wire reports Lehigh, Northampton and their contiguous counties were awarded more than $2.7 million from the Marcellus Shale impact fee, according to figures released by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Lehigh, Northampton, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Monroe, Montgomery and Schuylkill counties received nearly 13 percent more in fees than last year, which dropped slightly from the previous year. ...
