ASB&T makes $250,000 Housing Incentive Fund contribution

To help meet the challenge of creating affordable housing in Western North Dakota, American State Bank & Trust Company of Williston has contributed $250,000 to the North Dakota Housing Incentive Fund for 2013. For the third year in a row, ASB&T has contributed to this fund. With this year’s contribution, it brings ASB&T’s running total to $375,000 since 2011.

Of the $250,000 contribution, $100,000 will be earmarked for Phase II of Williston State College Foundation’s housing project; $100,000 will go toward affordable apartments in the Renaissance on Main project in Williston; and $50,000 is directed to McKenzie Healthcare Systems Employee Housing in Watford City.

ASB&T President/CEO Dave Hanson said, “We consider it our privilege to be able to take part in the creation of affordable housing projects in Williston and Watford City.”

The ND Housing Incentive Fund provides a tax credit incentive for businesses providing financial contributions toward the construction of affordable housing projects throughout the state.

Hanson said, “ASB&T is Williston’s only locally owned bank and we take our commitment to the communities we serve very seriously. Being able to play a part in relieving the affordable housing crisis is part of being a responsible business.”
