No one ever said working any number of Bakken jobs would be easy. The hours are long, and the weather…well, you never quite know what the weather will do. In the winter, you can count on short days and biting winds. In the summer, expect a few days over a hundred and expect mosquitoes and sunburn.
But the work is honest. Anyone who has ever worked the oilfield knows it gets in your blood. It’s like a farm boy who leaves for the city. He’s always wistful, thinking about baling hay between planting and harvest. There are no words to describe why we do it.

Kinder Morgan: GAUGER
Kinder Morgan is looking for gauger in Johnson’s Corner (Watford City). This position gauges and tests products, completes receipt or delivery records, and performs routine site activities like adjusting flow or pressure. You’ll service and maintain field pumps and LACT units. You’ll work with customers, and you’ll need to be on call periodically. Key Energy Services: FIELD TRAINEE
Key Energy Services is currently seeking a Field Trainee for its Rig Services location. This is a great position for someone with limited experience, since you’ll need a high school diploma or GED and only 1-2 years of floorhand experience. You’ll be responsible for performing services as part of a 3-5 person crew, assisting in rigging up and rigging down, pulling or laying down rods, tubing and casing, and driving truck when necessary (so you’ll need a CDL).

MBI Energy: DIESEL MECHANIC
Whether you want to work in Kildeer, Ross, or Belfield, MBI is hiring a few mechanics (as well as several other positions). As a mechanic for MBI, your main job is to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on all types of diesel engines. You’ll need a comprehensive understanding of things like clutch adjustments and replacements, transmission rebuilds, differential replacements, PTO replacements, and more. You’ll want to know and understand Volvo, International, Western Star, Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Cat, Cummins and Detroit engines. And last but not least, you’ll need to be punctual and show up to work. You’ll need diesel mechanic certification and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Oil States International: FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Don’t be intimidated by the lengthy job description on their site. If you are a dynamic, hard-working, and ambitious person with good communication skills (both verbal and written) that allow you to speak and write clearly and persuasively, you just might be right for the position of Field Service Technician in Dickinson. You’ll need a high school diploma or GED, have a CDL and a good driving record, and understand and follow safety procedures at all times. You’ll need to have a flexible schedule and be willing to be on call 24/7 for periods of time. But the job itself is primarily installation, operation, repair, removal, and maintenance of company tools and other oilfield equipment. You’ll need to know wireline, isolation, thru tubing, production services, ball launch, and frac stacks and rentals.
