Williston, N.D. – On September 10, Williston will be hosting the Bakken X Trek in Spring Lake Park. Runners can register for this obstacle and terrain 5k race at a reduced rate through the end of April.
The Bakken X Trek course features two dozen obstacles through natural park features including mud, water, swamp and hills as well as some built obstacles including ropes, balance beams, webs and tires. Runners are invited to enjoy a free beer courtesy of Outlaws and a stay for a live music and a pork roast.
Race waves are set at 75 people to reduce long lines and wait times at obstacles. Those who love to run as a family or a “pack” can take advantage of special pricing. Runners can register for open waves at www.bakkenxtrek.com. If they do so prior to April 30, participants qualify for early registration prices, as well.
Spring Lake Park will be closed to the general public for the race from 8am-4pm on September 10, but racers, families and all spectators are welcome! Non-delivery vehicles will not be allowed inside the park during the race.
The Bakken X Trek will be utilizing most areas of the park including some playground, parking and open water areas. Parking for racers, spectators and volunteers will be available at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds, with a shuttle available between the fairgrounds and Spring Lake Park.
