Oklahoma native on the job as new Minot Daily News editor

MINOT, N.D. — The Minot Daily News has a new editor.

Forty-six-year-old Michael Sasser is an Oklahoma native who has traveled extensively during his journalism career and written several travel books.

The Daily News reports that Sasser most recently was doing contract work for a variety of publications from Florida, including serving as editor of the Sun Post in Miami Beach. His first day in Minot was Monday.

Previous Minot Daily News Editor David Rupkalvis left in May for a newspaper in Tucson, Arizona.

In related news, Minot may soon be North Dakota’s fourth metropolitan area.
