SM Energy opens new office in Williston

Independent oil and gas exploration and production company SM Energy (NYSE: SM) has announced that its new Williston, North Dakota, office is now open for business.

The Denver-based company celebrated the opening of its new office with a grand opening event on Thursday, October 29. SM Energy executives, state officials and guests gathered at the new site to praise both the company’s new office space and its commitment to doing business in North Dakota. Along with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony, attendees were offered guided tours of the facility.

In a statement, SM Energy President and CEO Jay Ottoson said, “At SM Energy, one of our core values is to provide employees a rewarding and productive work experience. Today is an exciting day for our company as we officially open our Williston office doors for business.”

The 28,000-square-foot office freatures over 3,000 square feet of glass, 72 offices, seven conference rooms, a restaurant and a 120-person training facility. There is also a 4,000 square foot shop and warehouse attached to the building. The building was designed with energy efficiency in mind, featuring sensor-controlled, LED lighting.

Ottoson added, “This facility is certainly a tangible indication of our commitment to growing our business here in North Dakota. We look forward to continuing our long standing business partnership with the state of North Dakota, our landowners, and the communities in which we live, work and operate in this region.”
