MINOT, N.D. — Six candidates including two from Minot are still in the running to become the city’s next fire chief.
Chief CJ Craven is retiring Jan. 8. The 35-year department veteran has served as fire chief for a little more than eight years.
The Minot Daily News reports that the city manager will be interviewing two or three of the top candidates and making a recommendation to the City Council in November.
The city hopes to bring in a new chief and familiarize that person with the duties of the position before Craven leaves.
