BISMARCK, N.D. — The northern lights have been making a splash in the Dakotas this week.
The North Dakota Department of Commerce’s tourism Twitter account has been busy retweeting residents’ brightly colored photographs of the aurora borealis from across the state. Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based KELO-TV even caught a shot of the aurora on its Chamberlain sky-camera.
Patrick Ayd of the National Weather Service’s Bismarck office tells KXMB-TV that the weather phenomena is not done showing off, and he expects the trend will continue for the next couple months.
