BISMARCK, N.D. — The North Dakota Health Department says a barrel of natural gas liquids spilled at a gathering pipeline and entered a tributary to Dry Fork Creek in Williams County.
North Dakota Water Quality Director Karl Rockeman says the spill was reported Saturday by pipeline owner Hess Tioga Gas Plant LLC.
Rockeman says state inspectors and cleanup contractors were on scene Wednesday, about 10 miles south of Tioga. He says contaminated water and soil were being removed from the site.
Rockeman says he doesn’t expect any environmental damage.
Condensate is a byproduct of natural gas production. A barrel is 42 gallons.
