COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio gas prices are down to start the work week.
The state average for a gallon of regular gas was $2.33 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s down a dime from a week ago and $1.27 less than last year at this time.
The national average was $2.45 per gallon Monday. That’s up 2 cents from a week ago but more than a dollar cheaper than a year ago.
Ohio prices had dropped below the $2 mark at the beginning of the year then went up again in February. Analysts say an increase in crude oil prices and labor strikes at several refineries had pushed gas prices higher.
