Columbia Gas president is moving

Columbia Gas of Ohio President Jack Partridge is taking on a new position at Columbia Gas’s parent company, NiSource Inc.

Partridge, 67, has led Columbia Gas since 2003 and recently accepted the position of chief policy officer for NiSource.  Partridge will continue to work out of Columbus, Ohio, but will work across NiSource’s seven-state region.  He will now report to NiSource’s new CEO Joe Hamrock.

In an interview with the Columbus Business Journal, Partridge spoke of the company’s plans for shale gas pipelines and other infrastructure projects, including a multi-billion dollar project to replace Ohio’s pipeline system.

The current General Manager of Columbia Gas Dan Creekmur will be taking over the company.  Creekmur has worked for Columbia Gas since 2007. Previously, he worked as an intern at Union Central Life Insurance Company of Cincinnati.  At Columbia Gas, Creekmur worked in regulatory affairs which will benefit him as the company works to complete shale gas pipelines throughout the state.

Columbia and NiSource are both at transitioning points.  NiSource will soon become two publicly traded companies, forming the Columbia Pipeline Group.  The division of NiSource will become a regulated natural gas and electric utility company.
