A 21-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday for shooting a 27-year-old man, Pacer Coleman, of Alvarado, Texas in the face outside of the Value Place Inn in Watford City. Through finding Kimberly Nichole Pomeroy, police also ended up arresting her roommates who were also allegedly distributing methamphetamine. Forum news service reports that Pomeroy has been charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver marijuana. Her roommates, Kevin Andrew Kelly, 20; Justin Scott Davis, 20; and John Dalton Abbott, 26 have all also been charged with conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver marijuana. Law enforcement discovered the drugs when they tracked Pomeroy to their residence two hours following the shooting.
Coleman remains in critical condition at the Minot Medical Hospital. The reason for the shooting is still unknown, and reports claim Pomeroy allegedly smashed Coleman’s cellphone following the incident in order to avoid being tracked. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 15 regarding all of the defendants. Crime has been steadily rising in oil patch towns as a result of a recent population surge in North Dakota.
