Williston has lots of fun upcoming events, including Cecil’s Haunted House, Mixology, Run For Help 5K Zombie Challenge, Bras for a Cause, and Painting & Tasting Party, as well as Alien Ant Farm, Zeale and The Farthest Edge in concert.
Cecil’s Haunted House is located north of Walmart on Highway 2. It is open all weekends before Halloween. Nightly tours are from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is a $10 admission fee, which will get you a tour of the house and access to the corn maze. Thanks to the Williston Parks and Recreation board, the third Sunday of October is free to children ages 8-14. Those participating in the tour are suggested to wear closed-toed shoes.
Mixology is a class great opportunity to learning how to mix your own cocktails and what essentials you need in your own bar at home. The class is on October 20 at the Williston Crighton Building from 7p.m. to 8:30p.m. Registration closes on October 19, at midnight. There is a $30 admission fee.
Run for Help 5K Zombie Challenge is not your average 5K run. During this run, participants will be running through zombie infested areas while wearing a belt with race flags. The zombies will be trying to steal the flags and those who survive the run with a flag still attached to their belt will be entered to win a prize. The run is on October 25 in Spring Lake Park and registration opens at 4p.m.; the race will begin at 5:30p.m. Participants are welcome to run solo or be a part of a Zombie Outbreak Response Team (limit of 6 per team) for a $5 discount. Bras for a Cause on November 8 in the Old Armory Theatre at 4p.m. is a fundraising event for breast cancer, and everyone is invited to participate. Participants may donate a decorated bra or silent auction item, but a simple money donation will happily be accepted. Painting & Tasting Party is on November 8 at 7p.m. in the Williston Career & Technical Education Center. During this party, participants will be guided by a local artist in painting their own interpretations of a selected piece. While painting, participants are welcome to enjoy wine and beer tasting from 26th Street Liquor. All painting supplies will be provided. Registration for the class closes on November 7 at midnight. There is a $55 admissions fee.
DK’s Lounge and Casino is presenting Alien Ant Farm, Zeale and The Farthest Edge in concert on November 9 at 8p.m. Tickets are available at the bar: $25 if purchased in advance or $30 at the door the night of the show. Must be 21 and over to attend.
