Continental Resources is one of the largest oil production companies in the Bakken region. Last week its president, Rick Bott, resigned from his position to pursue “a better opportunity.” Today, Continental named its new president. The new COO is Jack Stark, who has been the senior vice president of exploration for 16 years prior to this promotion. CEO Harold Hamm stated that Stark “has been a pioneer in unlocking oil from the shale basins in North Dakota, Oklahoma and elsewhere in the region.” Continental Resources was the top producing company in the Bakken until last month when Whiting Petroleum bought Kodiak Oil.
Continental Resources is based in Oklahoma City, OK and has been operating for 47 years.
