Texas oil worker killed in Oklahoma

An oil worker from Texas was killed on Wednesday in an accident on an Oklahoma oil rig.

Ernesto Rodriguez, 42, of Gainesville died in Mannsville when a section of pipe was forced out of a well hole and struck him, the Associated Press reports.

The well is operated by XTO Energy, Inc. Senior Production Superintendent Guy Haykus said the company is investigating the cause of the accident and that the well would be closed down pending an OSHA investigation.
