The Post Bulletin reported Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton attended a rail safety meeting in Red Wing last week. Dayton explained that Minnesota does not get much of a benefit from the North Dakota oil boom and is having rail safety issues because of it. He joked to a crowd “Every night I dream before I go to sleep of mobilizing the National Guard and annexing North Dakota.” He went on to add that he just means the part of the state with oil and that the rest of the state can stay. Mark Dayton has been governor of Minnesota since 2011.
