Emerald Oil expands Bakken holdings

Emerald Oil of Denver, CO has signed a potentially $110 million dollar deal. It has acquired 27,400 acres in the Bakken shale area through Liberty Resources II. This increases its land holdings in the area to 49,727 acres in total. The area is between two projects in Williams County, Emerald’s Low Rider and Lewis and Clark projects. It also included 23 drilling spacing units (DSU).

This new acreage was acquired for $78.4 million in cash.
