Extraordinary support for the Watford City, N.D., school bond vote is a strong indicator of the faith and optimism held by the local community. With their vote, Watford City residents signaled a positive, long-term outlook for what the energy boom means for the community. It recognizes the opportunities that still lie ahead in transforming into a healthy community filled with young families and unbeatable technical and professional careers.
In the Bakken, we are fortunate to work for the betterment of the local communities, our own success and the nation’s energy security. Doing all three personally is a rare opportunity. However, the community’s shared vision and willingness to take risk in building the city is even more unique. The efforts of local leaders to shape a positive and straightforward outlook are greatly appreciated in creating tremendous civic pride in the midst of rapid growth.
We are only the beginning rounds of a long and prosperous opportunity in developing the Bakken. As part of the progression, Watford City has a bright future ahead.
