31st Annual Williston Sport & Recreation Show March 18-20

Williston, N.D. – The 31st Annual Sport & Recreation Show will be held at the Raymond Family Community Center March 18-20, 2016. The show is produced by the Williston Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) each year as a fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting the Williston Police Department, community events and event equipment for Williston.

“We have some great returning vendors who join us every year,” commented Event Communications Coordinator Sabrina Ramey, “and then we have many new vendors. We have really strived to build the type of Sport & Rec show that the Williston community has asked us for: a fun family event and a resource for people who love the outdoors.”

Attendees will continue to enjoy the low entry fee and see the newest models of boats, RVs, ATVs, grills, motorcycles and spas. Upstairs, there are nearly 40 vendor booths offering a wide variety of products including custom made fishing poles, saunas, resort packages, man cave décor, fishing equipment, artwork and much more.

Show attendees can also check out the Butterfly Encounter, an interactive exhibit that allows participants to feed and enjoy 200-300 butterflies, including six different species. Mini donuts, cotton candy and ice cream will be sold upstairs with more food options for sale in the concession area by local Lions groups.

The Kid Zone will be open on Saturday and Sunday, featuring Archery Alley courtesy of the North Dakota Bow Hunters Association. The Cranbrook Institute of Science’s Organization for Bat Conservation will be exhibiting several live bat species and offering educational presentations both days. Kids can also get their faces painted for free and learn all about geocaching in a family friendly workshop and activity.

Speakers this year include Lake Sakakawea fishing expert and guide Matt Liebel of Liebel’s Guide Service, Mike Bassett of 100X Retrievers, geocaching experts Jon & Angela Westphal and Painted Woods Sporting Complex manager James Jones.
