Maxwells Restaurant in West Fargo Announces Ownership Change

West Fargo, North Dakota, March 14, 2016 –Maxwells Restaurant & Bar announced today that Executive Chef Mike Wald and General Manager Ramon Sosa have acquired the majority ownership interest in the business.

Maxwells has consistently been recognized as a fine dining leader in the region. A dedication to top quality cuisine delivered by an exceptionally dedicated staff has successfully driven the business over the last eight years. In 2015 Maxwells was the only North Dakota restaurant to be awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Patrons can expect a continuation of exceptional service paired with outstanding culinary excellence. No major changes are planned at Maxwells.

Maxwells was established in the spring of 2008 after Littlefields Restaurant was closed and remodeled. Mike Wald, who joined Littlefields in 2003, continued on as executive chef when Maxwell’s was re-launched. “After almost 13 years of working in the business I am thrilled to be making the transition to an owner,” said Wald.  “We will continue to focus on creating exquisite dining experiences conceived by our team members who are committed to the culinary arts.”

In 2009, Ramon Sosa joined the business as the assistant manager. In 2011, Sosa was promoted to general manager.  “This is my life,” said Sosa. “I have always known this was the path that I was most passionate about, and I am so honored to have this opportunity.”

“From the day we established the restaurant it was always my intent to transition the business ownership to the long-term management team of Maxwells,” said founder Mike Marcil. “The timing was finally right for this exciting transition to happen. With the opening of the new Sanford campus and the ongoing growth in West Fargo, the outlook for the business is very bright. We had our best year in 2015 and there is no question Mike and Ramon along with the other professional staff members at Maxwells are the reason for that success.”
