UMH Properties Inc. (NYSE:UMH) announces the opening of Memphis Blues, a new manufactured home community located at the site of its former Memphis Mobile City community. Memphis Blues is a gated community that features amenities including a playground, 24-hour maintenance and on-site management. Its central location is near some of Tennessee’s most famous attractions, such as Elvis Presley’s Graceland.
The community has been completely rebuilt, with new streets, utilities, perimeter security fences, office and amenities. The site was filled during the reconstruction, raising the ground above the flood elevation to help prevent floodwater from entering the community. In addition to the higher ground elevations, the homes will be installed per the City’s zoning ordinances to provide additional protection from flooding. The new community is set to reopen in this June when renovations are completed, and residency applications are currently being accepted.
