BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) has been notified of a 200 barrel source water spill used for enhanced oil recovery that occurred Saturday, Feb. 6, as a result of a pipeline leak. The spill occurred at a well owned by Denbury Onshore located in Bowman County, approximately eight miles south of Marmarth. Released fluids entered a stock dam. Source water is higher in dissolved solids and minerals than fresh water.
The NDDoH is responding and will work with the company on remediation plans.
