Deadline extended for grants aimed at Williston projects

WILLISTON, N.D. — The Williston STAR Fund board of directors has extended the deadline for 2016 Community Enhancement grant applications.

The grant program helps nonprofit groups fund activities and projects that improve the quality of life in Williston. The deadline for applications is to 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Grant recipients in the past include Williston Sea Lions, Boy Scouts and James Memorial Center for the Visual Arts.

Funding for the grants comes from a 1 percent city sales tax. Matching funds are required.
