MINOT, N.D. — NBA star Shaquille O’Neal will be in North Dakota this week to talk to members of the military about resiliency.
O’Neal is scheduled to meet Tuesday at Minot Air Force Base with airmen and their families, wounded warriors, Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipients, and others. Former Louisiana State University coach and Minot native Dale Brown will also speak at the event.
Their visit is part of the Air Force-wide initiative known as Comprehensive Airmen Fitness. The Minot Daily News reports the purpose of the program is to build a culture of resiliency.
O’Neal and Brown have a longtime friendship. O’Neal played at LSU under Brown. But years before, they met at a U.S. Army base in Germany, where O’Neal was living while his stepfather was in the military.
