BISMARCK, N.D. — The North Dakota Oil and Gas Division says about 2,100 gallons of oil and 12,600 gallons barrels of saltwater were released, contained and recovered on a site just outside of Williston.
StatOil Oil and Gas LP reported Wednesday’s incident to the state division.
The company reported that the cause of the contained fluid release at the oil and gas well is listed as equipment failure, which caused a tank to overflow. The site is about 15 miles northwest of Williston.
A state inspector has been out to the location.
