Second Enable Midstream pipeline system now online

The first phase of Enable Midstream Partners’ Nesson crude and produced water gathering system in now online, reports The Bakken Magazine.

Construction of the Nesson system, which will provide service for XTO Energy Inc. wells in Williams and Mountrail counties, began in July 2014. According to the company, the pipeline has been feeding into the downstream delivery system since May 7 and is able to transport up to 1,800 barrels of oil per day (Bopd).

In a statement, Enable Midstream President and CEO Lynn Bourdon said, “Our customers continue to have a need for the delivery of energy to key markets. We have a proven track record of effectively and efficiently deploying capital to meet that need.”

Construction of the project’s second phase began in April and is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of this year. When completed, the maximum capacity of the Nesson system is expected to be 30,000 bopd with more than 160 miles of pipeline and will have 69 origin points for crude oil and produced water gathering.

This is the second pipeline system Enable has brought online this year. In April, the Bear Den Crude and Produced Water Gather System began operation, also servicing XTO Energy in the Little Missouri field. According to the company the system has a maximum capacity of 19,500 bopd. Bourdon said, “It’s a great demonstration of our ability to effectively and efficiently deploy expansion capital to meet our customers’ needs for delivering energy to key markets.”

Enable Midstream designs operates natural gas and crude oil pipelines and gathering systems. Currently it has approximately 11,000 miles of gathering lines, 12 processing plants with a 2.1 billion cubic feet per day capacity. Additionally, Enable Midstream has 7,900 miles of interstate transfer lines touting an 8.4 billion cubic feet per day capacity and approximately 86.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas storage.
