Commission to take input on Oneok natural gas plant proposal

WATFORD CITY, N.D. — The North Dakota Public Service Commission will take input next week on a gas processing plant in the works northeast of Watford City.

Oneok (ONE’-oak) Rockies Midstream LLC has submitted an application for the Demicks Lake Gas Processing Plant that would process 400 million cubic feet of natural gas daily.

The Oklahoma-based firm is the largest natural gas company operating in the state.

Oneok says the $642 million factory is expected to be completed in 2016. The plant will produce natural gas liquids containing products such as propane, butane and natural gasoline as well as pipeline grade natural gas, a mixture of methane, ethane and carbon dioxide.

The PSC hearing starts at 9 a.m., Monday, Feb. 9 at Teddy’s Residential Suites in Watford City.
