The oil and gas industry in Louisiana and the surrounding region will kick off February with the 3rd Tuscaloosa Marine Shale Development Summit and Exhibit in New Orleans. The conference, hosted by Information Forecast (Infocast), is slated for February 3-5. Infocast is one of the leading hosts of energy industry conferences, with five events set for February alone.
Although low oil prices have all but halted exploration in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale (TMS), the summit will offer an opportunity for companies and stakeholders to network and discuss the play’s outlook. Among the speakers set to present at the event are representatives from Comstock Resources, Goodrich Petroleum Corp., Schlumberger and Encana.
A pre-summit briefing will take place on Tuesday, February 3, regarding TMS regulatory and environmental compliance management. Registration for the event will begin at noon, and presentations are scheduled throughout the afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
The bulk of the event’s presentations will take place on Wednesday, February 4. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with a breakfast, and the day’s speakers will be preceded by a remote welcome from Louisiana Senator David Vitter at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday’s agenda stretches until 5:30 with a cocktail reception to end the day.
Speakers on Wednesday will focus on upstream, energy markets, midstream and barge transportation. Thursday will focus on downstream; rail, trucking and logistics; and community infrastructure. February 5 will open with another networking breakfast at 7:30 a.m., and the summit’s events will close at 12:15 p.m. following a panel on the region’s workforce needs.
