Hoeven to welcome home National Guard unit

BISMARCK, N.D. — U.S. Sen. John Hoeven is set to welcome home 36 members of a North Dakota National Guard unit that recently returned to the U.S. from Kosovo.

Hoeven will greet the 2nd Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment’s C Company at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Bismarck’s airport.

The unit flies Black Hawk helicopters and was deployed to Kosovo for a year to support the U.S.-led Multinational Battle Group East. In Kosovo, they provided transport for troops, cargo and casualty evacuation, and helped train Kosovar security forces.
